What Is a Suspended LED Linear Light?
A suspended LED linear light is a bar-shaped luminaire hung from the ceiling on adjustable cables, lighting downward onto the working plane and upward onto the ceiling at the same time. The PD Series is OLAMLED’s up-and-down office version, built in 1200 mm / 30 W and 1500 mm / 45 W.
It is specified for open-plan offices, meeting rooms and circulation areas designed to EN 12464-1. A lens paired with an internal reflector holds glare at UGR<16 (65° beam) or UGR<19 (90° beam) while single-colour versions deliver more than 140 lm/W. Luminaires join end to end with a straight connector for continuous runs of any length, in white or black aluminium with four housing-and-reflector finishes.

Lens + Reflector Secondary Optics for Low-Glare Offices
The PD Series uses a secondary optical system rather than a bare diffuser. A transparent lens shapes the beam while an internal reflector controls its cut-off angle. Together they direct light onto the working plane instead of into the line of sight, which is what keeps the unified glare rating low enough for screen-based work over a full day.

How the secondary optical design works
Up and down lighting splits the output in two directions.
Migliori upward component reflects off the ceiling and returns as soft, diffuse fill. It raises the perceived brightness of the room and removes the cave effect that purely downward luminaires create in offices with dark ceilings.
Migliori downward component passes through the lens and reflector and arrives on the desk with a controlled cut-off and even distribution across the run.
The result measures against EN 12464-1 on illuminance and glare, and still reads as comfortable to the people working under it.
UGR<16 and UGR<19 Options for EN 12464-1 Offices
Glare control is set by the beam angle, and both options share the same housing, so a project can mix them without any visible change in the ceiling line.
65° beam — UGR<16. The stricter figure, specified for technical drawing, CAD and control rooms where EN 12464-1 calls for UGR 16.
90° beam — UGR<19. The general office limit in EN 12464-1, covering more floor area per luminaire and reducing the fixture count on open-plan layouts.

Switchable CCT: 3000K / 4000K / 6000K
A dip switch on the driver selects 3000K, 4000K or 6000K on site. One stocked item then covers warm, neutral and cool projects, which cuts distributor inventory and removes the risk of ordering the wrong colour temperature for a job.
Switchable-CCT versions deliver more than 110 lm/W. Fixed single-colour versions reach more than 140 lm/W, and are the better choice where a project is tendered on efficacy.

The PD Series suspends on steel cables at an adjustable height, so it can be dropped to the right level under high or exposed ceilings and set to deliver both direct and indirect light.
- Fix the suspension points at the marked ceiling positions.
- Hang the luminaire on the supplied grippers and check it sits level.
- Route the supply cable along the suspension cable in line with local wiring regulations.
- Adjust the cable length until the run is level and at the specified mounting height.
For continuous runs, align the luminaires with the straight connector before setting the final drop height.
Driver Options: Non-Dimmable, 1-10V and DALI-2
Three driver options are available across the PD Series.
Non-dimmable — constant output. For corridors, storerooms and any area where a fixed light level is sufficient and cost is the priority.
1-10V dimmerabile — analogue control from 10% to 100%. Suited to meeting rooms, offices and spaces with daylight linking.
DALI-2 — digital addressable control to the DALI-2 standard. For buildings where each luminaire has to be addressed, grouped, scheduled and logged from a lighting management system, and the usual choice on specified European projects.

The PD Series is specified where a clean linear ceiling line and low glare are both required. The values below are the maintained illuminance, glare limit and colour rendering that EN 12464-1 sets for each space.
- Ufficio open space — 500 lux, UGR 19, Ra 80. Continuous runs above workstation rows; the 90° beam covers the most floor area per luminaire.
